as a young

hiv-positive

bisexual

transgendered

woman,

i have got to take my place in this world

or i will be trampled into nothingness.

so i went into the inaugural meeting

of the queer justice league

last night at the center

ready to fight.

started by the phenomenal

larry kramer,

this group is a reaction.

there is more than aids

that is plaguing the queer community.

depression, addiction, body dysmorphia, overall self-destrucion-

all stemming from our surroundings.

and since our health is determined by the environment we live in

along with the choices that we make in this bubble,

we are choosing to rage against the powers

who decide that we don’t deserve

an equal chance at survival.

i’m realizing that

for the underdog to take her place in this world

and develope a sense of self-regard

is revolutionary.

rage on.
