it’s a different war

when you can lift a combat photo from your brother’s facebook account-
full internet access for the troops

means lol, brb, and aren’t that far away from the field.

it’s a very strange sensation

letting go of a sibling

to do something you find appalling.

the appalled lifts into complacency

and the letting go turns into denying the possibilities.
it was easier to resist the war

when i didn’t have direct communication with one of it’s members.

from pennysylvania (i visited this week)

such a different climate.

the world seemed like it was crumbling there

and so peaceful here,

i suppose culture and education make the difference.

my mother went on, yesterday-

she dislikes the muslims.

really, she is informed her church

the wrath they will feel

when the history books are written-

shame on them. i despise the church’s ignorance

and will never forgive them

for denying my mother a peaceful life.

Russian scientists have designed a new mucosal HIV DNA vaccine delivered via rectal administration to protect against sexual HIV transmission. The vaccine suppositories consist of attenuated Salmonella enteritidis containing a DNA vector encoding sequences of cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) epitopes of Env, Gag, Pol and Nef proteins. Two doses of the Sal-HIV D vaccine given within a 28-day interval induced HIV-1-specific antibodies, able to neutralize HIV-1 in vitro, and CTL responses in immunized animals, without causing adverse effects (Karpenko, L. et al. 4th IAS Conf HIV Pathog Treat Prev (July 22-25, Sydney) 2007, Abst TUPEA076).
